Aurelia campbell's book examines the building projects of the ming emperor jongle to consider how imperial ideology takes shape in built space. By addressing how and why buildings were constructed, her book expands our understanding of imperial chinese architecture as a building typology. Aurelia is currently associate professor of art history at boston college.
