The President Isn't Going to Negotiate the Debt Ceiling
The president is relentlessly focused on bringing down costs. He understands the impact of when you go to the grocery store and you're paying more for meat or milk or eggs. So that's his guiding principle, as he thinks about an economic plan. The president is not willing to make the full faith and credit of the United States a bargaining chip in order to raise the debt limit. Under this president, we've reduced the deficit $1.7 trillion under this administration.
