The King's Proclamation to the Berliners

In March 1848, Berlin was under siege by Austrian forces. The king of Prussia ordered the army to stand down and withdraw from the city. He then promised that his people would now have a constitution but made disingenuously promises. Three days later, the royal family decamped Berlin for relative's safety in Potsdam.
