Kubernetes and Containerization and the Service Mesh

A service mesh is a way of deploying services at the platform layer. It takes these proxies and sticks them next to every single service in your application. The idea of managing 10,000 proxies across this fleet of machines was like not something that anyone really had the appetite to do but luckily Kubernetes and containerization made that kind of deployment model practical.
