The History of the Basque Children
4,000 Basque children came to Britain in 1937. They arrived on an old line called the SS Havana which was not designed for 4,000 people. The main historian of the Basque children, a Mcall Adrian Bell, he's written that this was the largest single influx of refugees into Britain and they were pretty much all children.
