Draper and White's Argument for a Purer Christianity
Draper and white hated what they called christian dogma. They wanted religion that was totally malleable in terms of doctrine. For draper especially, catholicism wasn't to blame for the rift between science and religion. Both decide that the way to getting rid of dogma is to get rid of superstition. And if we do that, we've be given a really good argument for ditching all this stuff.
