Is There a Certainty?
Most Christians don't think of it the way you just said, Mark. Most 99% of Christians would not say, is it certain? No, they would say, it's absolutely certain. The idea that what is certain is the exact description that John of Patmos wrote down was a problem for me. But even in my own place, I have confidence that God will make all the apparently pointless suffering of the world make sense and worth it in some way. And other days, I'm like, I don't know if I have that confidence and I have to live my life of faith without that kind of confidence.
