The Negro Question and the Black Belt Nation Iteration

The early Communist Party tried very hard to kind of infiltrate the Garvey movement of the 1920s. When that didn't work, they began to formulate their own position on the Negro question. They were critical of a top down petty bourgeois black nationalism. But it's also important to note that the overwhelming majority of black communists did not support the black belt nation thesis. It just lent too closely to Jim Crow.
