The Importance of Respecting Our Truth

As scientists we tend to distinguish between these two things as follows. We say conflict is a situation. Violence is behavior. So if you think about that we are in a situation and now you can perform certain behaviors like running away from the situation, talking it through or grabbing a stick and chasing the other. The idea with this definition is that all of these behaviors that we then call violence are somehow oriented to suppressing the other to get the other down and to triumph yourself. And I take a very broad definition of what falls under violence or not.
