The Separatist View of Desire

The separatist view of human psychology says that our desires are separate from one another. That's a very unappealing picture of human psychology, and it doesn't look like that's the way human beings think about the world or what they want. The good person draws a picture of desire as merely drawing on power to make things happen for them rather than just wanting those things to happen at all.
