The Silence of God
Jesus does not show up on day one and page one of Matthew's gospel and just announce, I am the Messiah. That's not Jesus' style. He's far more subtle and sophisticated. This is where Jesus, I think, is revelation of what God is like. And so God in great love and respect for human dignity and free will chooses to be subtle, to be cryptic, to be the son of man.
