Chicago ranks ninth in per capita gun deaths just below Cincinnati and above Washington, D.C. The murder capital of the United States is Jackson, Mississippi by an unhealthy margin. In terms of size and impact, Chicago isn't much like Gary Indiana. It's more like New York and Los Angeles.
