Is the Story Telling Adaptive?
"There are plenty of terrific reasons to be very, very afraid," he says. "Both the science and the story telling are themselves agnostic." Story telling is a mechanism that can be used to scare people or excite them; there's nothing inherent to it. The real meaningful applications of genetic technologies aren't going to be designer babies but curing terrible genetic diseases if they ever happen.
