"I don't think you can make meaningful rich contextual art without having some degree of life experience travel ups and downs emotion all of those kind of things," she says. "It's very hard to put that all into an abstract painting that feels like it has enough to it when you're 17" The artist is inspired by Tracy Emmons' outspokenness, the fact that she seems fearless in what she displays as opposed to for example, a painter who is meticulously, beautifully skillfully accurate. 'In the personal is the universal so when someone shares their very, very personal life experience, we can resonate with it or at least because we've had similar experience,' he adds.
