CHAPTER

Phil's Suicide by Phil Graham

The first 40 years of Catherine Graham's life were more unhappy. She was taught that her own life is to find a man get him to marry you and then raise the children but not have any desire to excel professionally. This idea where you know 50% of human beings live we're taught not to try to fulfill their potential I think is is devastating. Her husband Phil committed suicide after he found out she had been thinking too much about running the Washington Post when others thought it wouldn't work. When an idea is right nothing can stop it, said her father in one of his best quotes.
