The clash between the U.S. and China is worrisome for many of the reasons that Graham Allison, I think, correctly addressed in a historical context. In the last five years, we've quickly gone from a trade war to a tech war to the early skirmishes of a new Cold War. The confluence of these false narratives on both sides of this struggle is sort of the high-octane fuel of conflict escalation. And so it can be ignited by sparks.
