The Advantages of Crossing Over

Cajal: We really do need our optic tracks to cross to accurately perceive the world around us. Without this crossing, we'd have a hard time accurately navigating the world because everything would be upside down and backward. And so pardon the pun, but like this is a visual concept. So we'll have some graphics in the show notes that demonstrate this so you can see it more clearly. But suffice it to say, because of the way that our curved corneas and lenses flip and invert visual inputs, without this crossing, they wouldn't work properly.
