The brothers became shareholders in the new company and recipients of all the dividends it would generate. Malcolmson on the other hand did not. He retained his shares in the Ford Motor Company of course, but he would get profits only on the sale of the finished cars. If he'd stuck it out for a decade longer, he would have gotten $100,000,000. So this mistake cost him $99,900,000, $99,800,000. And that was the end of Malcolmson.
