In the Vedas you will find do's and don'ts, injunctions and prohibitions. What is a Dharmadharma? Right and wrong. This is in the Vedic context, but everything else that we do,. all of it is under the banner of Appara, not transcendent to lower relative knowledge. Shankaracharya makes a rather harsh comment here, he says, all lower knowledge is ignorance. The higher knowledge will reveal to us the one reality out of which this entire universe is made. Swami Sarvapriyananda teaches the Mundaka Upanishad which one of the major Upanishads belonging to the Atharva Veda. Mundaka means ''shaved'' like a shaved head. The teachings revealed in this Upanishad are meant to leave the student clean, or shaved of the veil of ignorance. Indeed, the study of this Upanishad has been traditionally confined to the shaven-heads, or the sannyasins, who have renounced everything and devoted themselves exclusively to contemplation.
