In 19 17, two at a munich olympic they first introduced an automatic fall star detection. The threshold there was set to uncorrect 20 kilo. So with pressure sensitive pads on the starting blocks, you could now measure how quickly athletes started. You might think this solved the problem, because as long as the athlete reacts after the gun, then surely it's a fair start. But it isn't that simple.
