Colorado's Department of Regulatory Agencies received nearly a dozen complaints from the public about Megan Hess over the past six years. Reports soon emerged of shoddy record keeping, bombings and cremations performed without permission. The owners have also been scrutinized for running a side business that donates body parts for scientific research. Instead of presenting evidence to the state in support of her case, Megan Hess agreed to relink which her funeral and crematory licenses.
