Would You Ever Direct Your Own Film?

Would you ever write something that you aren't going to direct? I do. i find it quite refreshing, in the sense that there's just less pressuree on yourself. directing your own work is beautiful and painful at the same time. My film education really came out of documentary, or did you go from documentary as you went into the fictional realm?
