i lost my business as a result of failure to prepare. I took a ten thousand dollar loss on one transaction that a client said they never authorized. Even though i had receipts and signatures, the american express company sided with its client. My fault came down to the fact that i swiped his card when his card had chip technology. And since i didn't buy the 50 dollar chip reader, the customer was able to cancel his charge.I also lost my home and put tremendous strain on my family.
