Laughter is a really interesting area in that because literally nobody studies it Charles Darwin wrote a lot about laughter when he wrote about the expression of emotions and humans and other animals. If you tickle a baby chimpanzee or a baby orangutan they laugh and it sounds very recognizably like our laughter, we're apes. It turns out that rats also laugh there was a fantastic American scientist called Pankstep who tickled rats and make this high pitch squeak when they're laughing but it doesn't sound like laughing but it seems.
