The Myth of the Waterboy in Egyptology
The myth of the waterboy is a myth both here and in my own episodes that I have published about the tomb. There really is no substantial or direct evidence that the waterboy story is true. It fits quite nicely with the idea that Howard Carter and Lord Canavan just stumbled across the tomb, which we also found by accident. But again, doing kind of a disservice to the highly professional excavators who were employing any old boy on the site was not going to play it safe.
