The Life and Times of Albert Pike
Albert Pike got accepted to Harvard in August, 1825, when he was only 16 years old. He had already become obsessed with poetry and writings of the Renaissance and Enlightenment period. A year later, Albert Pike had worked hard for himself at the age of 16 to 17. The Cambridge fees that he had saved up to pay for because he believed they were only $100 per year had actually doubled as an advanced student. So feeling defeated, he decided to return home but was able to become a teacher aged 17.
