The American Muslim bubble is really that. It's a bubble, and it's oddly disconnected at times from what's actually happening in the Middle East. There's not a whole lot in the middle of the Israel-Palestine-Venn diagram. The design of the episode from the writer's room was purely, Rami's going to sit with the Palestinian woman, he's going to sitting with an Israeli woman. He's going to be like, what the fuck's going on with this guy? That was a 100% straight-up character assassination on a level.
