Y.E. Cupp: If you were to build up this large stock pile of cash throughout your life, you'll always be leaning to words like "let me deploy this capital" Instead of actually giving that capital to other people who have spent their whole lives figuring out how to be altruistic or deploy capital most effectively. For 200 dollars, you can pay for a doctor to give people surgery that removes the cataract and fixes their sigt. And so if you give two thousand dollars to this organization, you can actually transform the lives of ten people.
Like everything in life, giving back is a skill and a habit that takes time to learn. In this episode, Steph and I talk about how we define giving, the ways in which we've experimented with giving back, and how you can get started giving even before you're ready to give.
