Macron's Strong Point on Retirement Ages
The French are much better at standing up for their workers rights, aren't they? I'm just ingesting a healthy dose of British skepticism about our ability to fight anything we don't like here. But you're just a couple more figures behind the situation he faces in France. In 2000 there were 2.1 active workers paying into the system for every retiree. By 2020 it fell into 1.7 and by 2070 it will almost be parity on workers and retired people.
