The Power of Storytelling
A story is like a compass in that it locates us. It helps us make sense of where we are and where we're going because a story is that. A plot is bringing coherence to what otherwise is just random, meaningless events. That's what the Bible is. The Bible is a big narrative with a coherent plot which is told and retold. And so it seems to me that if Jesus as God revealed made sense of the world through telling stories, then those of us who follow Him should do the same.
