Is Google Buying No Val's Patents?

Google seems to be getting sued left, right, and center over different patents. They are in there right now, the highest bidder on no val's patent. Maybe they're cornering the market on new programming languages. I see both sides of it. But I think most people agree, even outside of software and technology pens, the patent system is kind of problematic right now.
