The Life and Times of a Black Hockey Player

Bob Riley was born too early in terms of potential opportunities to go to the room of professional hockey. Instead, Bob went on to do a master's degree in social work and eventually joined the federal public service. If Bob had been just a little bit older, he would have seen two black players join the NHL in 1974 - both of them playing for the same team. And just like Bob, one of them was from Nova Scotia.
