The Trees of the Night
Tree thought briefly of his frozen dew, shining brilliantly in the morning sun. But remembered how it had extinguished as soon as the clouds had crowded over the sky. Jealousy crept up on tree like night creeping up on day. He didn't even notice it until it was upon him. The lights coming from the tree in the window were extraordinarily bright. They seemed to have no relation to the sun or the moon.
