The UN system accounts or you can system of accounting was created, which basically says if you produce what you consume, you don't produce. So sustainable production with sustained consumption was turned into zero. And that's why the growth indicator only counted extractivism,. But every bit of extractivism is a disruption of a social system or of an ecological system. Worse, this extraction has huge amounts of pollution and externalities.
