The Resilience of Banks in the Global Financial Crisis

The Basel Committee and the global rules on banking, leverage has gone less levered. Across the board, I think worldwide and also if you look at European banks in particular, they are much more resilient because of these higher requirements. But as we've seen with a couple of bank failures, capital is not at the end of it. You have to be aware of other things like liquidity and in this case, or these cases like SPB that operational risk is still something to be looked after.
