The Reorganization of the Communist Party

In the party ranks, there's been an effort started right away when Xi Jinping came to power to redefine what membership in the Communist Party looked like. There are actually pretty exact parallels with what they're doing to the military post 2015, 2016. The army for many years, of course, was used as this kind of iron rice bowl where you join, you get a paycheck for life and you don't have to worry about much,. They're trying to change that, and that's, I think, very much in parallel with what they were trying to do with the party at large.
