The Use of Drifting Things in the Ocean
Drifting things are very useful when it comes to tracking where the ocean's going. They act as traces, and they have been a very useful way of learning about currents. A lot of this science was very useful when the Malaysian plane MH370 went down. This was the sort of science they were using that scientists had already put drifters in those areas. If something washes up here, it might well have come from over here back there.
