The average lifespan of someone with familiar hypercholesterolemia is identical to the average lifespan of people who do not have it. And once you reach the age of 60, if you've got familiar hyper cholesterolemia, you are less likely to die from heart disease than the surrounding population. So how many people die of heart disease under the age of 40? The answer is very, very few.
