The Way in Which History Is Taught
I think that the way in which history is taught robs it of its texture and scale. I'm a bit conflicted about whether pedagogical methods and standards should change, or whether doing that might be putting the cart in front of the horse. And then look at, for example, if otherwise we risk making the same kinds of mistakes that you made in the Heruven era. But since I have a experiment of one, I cannot sort of judge otherwise.
Society cannot be designed in a top-down way. Central planning was a historic blunder that harmed India -- even though it was conceived by great men with good intentions.
