"If I hadn't have made that really terrible record I don't know if I would have done you know making a record that was so not me it was like a punch myself in the face," he says. "Some of the best music I've ever done has been in the periods before success and more recently that's fine but when you write something specifically engineered to try to become successful that's awful" He also talks about meeting Gemma, how she helped him change his attitude at work.
