The Effect of Homophily on Collective Emotions
The idea was that if we're more likely to attend to a stronger emotional expression of our group, we are more likely to prefer people who would express these views. The general insight as a social media user, I've always noticed that people around me seem to be more extreme than I am. And so you have recently co-authored a paper introducing a separate phenomenon called a cruffly which is just absolutely key in understanding how collective emotions can be shaped.
