Episode 86: Jason Frank - The Democratic Sublime
The Political Theory Review
The Barricade of Vents
Baudelaire is the pre eminent manifestation of the kind of sublime depiction of the barricade in inle meserab and i will say something brief about that in a second. But, but i try to read all, you know, this kind proliferating cultural figurations, barricade events, as one way in which this kind of dilemma of popular manifestation gets worked out across different registers of a popular culture. The idea of a kindo of an agency that emerges spontaneously on the part of the people themselves rather than being directed or guided by someone other than them can be very important. I think it's a very important part of the mythical mythos of a barricade.
