The Bio Psychosocial Model of Mental Health

In 1977, a man named George Ingle argued that the biomedical model ignored many other factors that could be contributing to mental illness. The bio psychosocial model is an interdisciplinary approach to understanding mental health by looking at the way biological factors in the medical model and socio environmental factors in the social model intersect. It was developed in part to address some of the gaps of a purely medical model of mental health.
