Gender: A Wider Lens

The Role of Personal Identity in Gender

Michael Bailey is an American psychologist, behavioral geneticist, and professor at Northwestern University best known for his work on the origins of sexual orientation. He maintains that sexual orientation is heavily influenced by biology and that male homosexuality is likely inborn. Dr. Bailey's 2003 book The Man Who Would Be Queen gave an accessible, compassionate, and intimate account of male sexuality with a focus on gender nonconforming boys, gay men, and male to female transsexuals. A small group of radical trans women viciously went after Mike, his reputation, and his family. This is the Pinking Person's take on gender. Join us as we look at gender from a wider lens.
