Is There a Better Way to Organize Our Culture?

A baseball player who excels in their craft does not do nearly as much to serve others as a farmer, nurse or school teacher. So what would have to happen from an economic perspective to re order society such that those salaries would come more closely into line? I think the most realistic way that would happen is through higher tax rakes. But other than short of that, i mean, the simple answer is communism, i guessri.
