The Calvinistic Interpretation of Verse Forty Six Is Not Consistent With the Whole Council of God's Word
On the calvinistic interpretation of verse forty six, god didn't want the jews of that day to come to faith and be saved. But is this consistent with the rest of what scripture teaches us? In romans ten 21, paul quotes rom the old testament saying, but concerning israel, god says, all day long i have held out my hands to a disobedient and obstinate people. Clearly, jesus longed for the salvation of jerusalem, but he reflects on the fact that they have grown hardened and now it is being hidden from their eyes.
