The 60s are always remembered as this great era of freedom by the mass media. But in your opinion, it was already slipping away by then. I think the hippies, look, I was in hate ashberry in 1965. It was a Russian bohemian neighborhood. They had a beaten up coffee shop. The rents were cheap. Two years later, the summer of love, that was all gone. There'd be one head shop after another. No more cheap rents,. No more Russian restaurants, no more beaten coffee shops. That's a hippies colonizing America.
