John Vervicki is talking about agape in the Christian context. He uses this illustration of how babies are sort of becoming human as they are loved by their mothers. The mother pours love in and then the baby becomes human out of that love. And I think that's what happens when you first make a decision to follow Christ. You're in that process of receiving his love all the time.
