The stoics argue that, while there are many areas where we lack enough knowledge to have certainty, that does not mean we lack the y knowledge to live virtuous lives and experience well being. Therefore, there must be a reasonable standard of evidence that we can rely on what comes to trusting our perceptions of things and events in nature. The philosophical sceptic will certainly disagree, and will argue that there can be no such thing as an adequate impression of external event. In some cases, withholding assent until further evidence is available is the prudent course of action. Nevertheless, in most cases, there is enough evidence. As stoics, our attention should be focused primarily on our assents to value judgments
