What's COVID Doing for Education?
Nelly: I think COVID has exposed the fragility of almost every institution in the UK to be quite frank. We've now got a much heightened awareness of the appalling child poverty rates in the UK, she says. There's a huge concern about what's happening to children in Britain and a complete and utter kind of unwillingness on the part of government to engage with the trauma that British children have been throughmuch worse than Finnish children because it's been so hard here. Nelly: Numbers leads you, it sort of dehumanizes children in particular. And turns them into these kind of units that you count."
